Mr. Carabasan joined the Bank team in July 2007, as Vice-president.

Graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies, Mr. Gheorghe Carabasan benefits of an experience of 39 years in banking activity. During the period 1973-1994, he worked in the Romanian Bank of Exterior Commerce (B.R.C.E.), where he successively held the positions of economist, inspector, head of service, manager, vice-president and member in the Administration Board of B.R.C.E. As Vice-president, he coordinated the activity of the External Accounting Department, External Payment Department, Credits Department and Informatics Department.

During the period 1975-1984, Mr. Gheorghe Carabasan collaborated with the Academy of Economic Studies and the Chair of Economic Analysis. Between 1990 and 1994, he was member in the Administration Boards of banks as “Banca Italo-Romena (Italian-Romanian Bank)”, Frankfurt Bukarest-Bank, as well as of trading companies as Mercur Trading S.A., Electra Trading S.A. and S.C. Prompt S.A.

In 1995, he held the position of Manager of Treasury and Settlements Department of Eximbank and one year latter, he became Manager of “Libertatii” Branch of Alpha Bank Romania. At the beginning of 1998, he became Manager of Operations Department of Alpha Bank, where he ensured, among others, the coordination of the activities of external payments, bank correspondents, settlements, Internet banking, arbitration and treasury.

Then, until 1999, he was auditor at Mercur Trading S.A. and S.C. Prompt S.A. During the period 2002 – July 2007, he was member of the Administration Board of the Romanian Fund for Energy Efficiency.

Always dedicated to the professional growth, Mr. Gherghe Carabasan followed post-university training programs in the financial-banking area, in external commerce area, and he participated to conferences, courses, seminars and other events, both in the country and abroad.
