Tuesday, the 6th December 2011, at the EU EBRD "Sustainable Energy Excellence Awards 2011" Gala, CEC Bank has received the “Award for promoting investments in energy efficiency”.
Meanwhile, at this event, two companies financed by CEC Bank have also been nominated and awarded:
- Avicola Gaesti, having benefited of a EBRD EEFF loan in amount of EUR 1.1 million, granted by CEC Bank – Pitesti Agency – “Award for energy efficiency in agriculture and forestry industry”;
- Olanesti Riviera, having benefited of a loan granted by CEC Bank - Ramnicu Valcea Agency, in amount of EUR 663,000 - "Award for energy efficiency in buildings”.
Representatives of EBRD Bucharest and London, Tractebel Engineering, banks involved during the current year in energy efficiency projects and customers having invested during the current year in such projects have attended the event.
The EU EBRD Energy Efficiency Finance Facility represents a joint financing project aiming to promote the energy efficiency investments in the private sector in Romania, through the local partner banks. Besides financial support, the companies will receive technical consultancy free of charge from Tractebel Engineering, which is also financed from European funds.
This event was organized to give some excellence awards to the Romanian companies which have successfully implemented energy efficiency projects, by using EU BERD - Energy Efficiency Finance Facility funds. The awards represent a method by which EBRD expresses its appreciation for the involvement in the energy efficiency project developments and the recognition of the economic and environmental benefits obtained by the companies acting in the private sector following their sustainable energy efficiency investments.
