CEC Bank and SelfPay, the leader of the self-service pay station market, experienced 1,600,000 transactions through the 344 pay stations within the Bank units in the first year as of the partnership launch date.
The partnership started with the collection of utility bills via the pay stations, subsequently being implemented also other services.
Thus, starting with September 2018, the cash deposit service in the accounts of the CEC Bank clients was launched, within the limit of 3,000 lei / transaction.
This year the payment of passport fees to pay stations was implemented, including through the bank card, at the agencies in the Park Lake and Plaza Romania shopping centers, to be extended in the next period also to the other units.
“Partnership with SelfPay is in line with the digitization and, implicitly, the simplification of the Client-Bank interaction. Pay stations are being used by a growing number of customers and we estimate that we will reach over 2.5 million transactions every year" said Cristian Nae, Head of the Territorial Network Administration Department of CEC Bank.
"The number of Romanians who choose SelfPay pay stations for making simple, convenient payments has seen significant growth in recent years. The transition from how to make payments to a cash desk or to an operator to modern payment technologies has become a normality of the era in which we live and we, at SelfPay, constantly innovate to transform the experience of consumers into a very simple and accessible one. We are glad that our vision regarding the evolution of payments was also shared by CEC Bank and the results obtained due to equipping banking units with pay stations are a confirmation of the market trends" said Adrian Badea, CEO of SelfPay.
