CEC Bank goes on with the digitalization process and provides its customers with a new authentication mechanism based on the biometric element recognition. Thus, as of September 2018, the Bank’s customers using iPhone X or following to use the new iPhone types (XS, XS Max and XR) can authenticate themselves in the Mobile Banking Application through the face recognition mechanism known as Face ID developed by Apple.

The Mobile Banking App enables making of the intra- and inter-bank payments in Lei or foreign currencies, invoice payments, exchange operations, deposit lodge/liquidation operations, as well as obtainment of financial information directly from the mobile phone, in real time. Another modern functionality of the App is the payment of utility invoices by scanning the bar codes with the means of the mobile phone camera, such facility being available for the partners with whom the Bank has concluded collection agreements. The platform enables also the GPS localization of all the Bank’s territorial agencies and ATMs, through the maps available on the mobile terminals. By such facilities, any stakeholder is guided, through the navigation systems, up to the closest Bank agency or ATM, receiving also the precise route to be followed. The App also enables the settlement of all types of taxes and duties.

The inter-bank transfers made through CEC Bank Mobile Banking benefit of fees lower by 50% than the standard rate charged by the Bank agencies and the intra-bank transfers benefit of full gratuity.
