CEC Bank, the financial institution with the longest tradition and the largest network in Romania, is launching today Apple Pay, a solution which transforms mobile payments by providing ease of use, security and confidentiality.
Security and confidentiality are the basis of Apple Pay. When customers use a debit or credit card with Apple Pay, the card data is not stored on the device used, nor on Apple's servers. Instead, a unique encrypted number is associated and saved in a device-encrypted format on a secure and certified chip (Secure Element).
Apple Pay is easy to set up, and customers can still enjoy all the benefits and advantages of CEC Bank cards. For payments in stores, Apple Pay is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 or newer models and Apple Watch.
The use of Apple Pay is free, both in the country and abroad, and payments by card, mobile phone or Apple Watch are made without fees or charges.
